This book is about being in your early twenties, holding a broken, throbbing, aching heart, and trying to figure out what to do next. Maybe you’re twenty, or twenty-three, and a relationship you thought was solid has just crumbled, and you feel hollow. This book is for you. It’s messy, and it’s raw, and it’s probably not as chock-full of wisdom as I want to believe. But this is my offering to my sisters (and brothers) who need some encouragement. This is a story about growing up, and marveling at grace even through tears, and seeing God work in big and mysterious ways. It's kind of impossible to recognize a story as it's happening. There is no rhyme or reason, no plot, no obvious inciting incident or climax, when you'e living it. But once you begin to gain a little perspective, the story is right there. This is that kind of book. The circumstances were pretty ordinary, honestly, in the grand scheme of things, but the seasons this book journeys through were life-changing because of what I saw Jesus accomplish. And it occurred to me that the thing you do with stories, is tell them.
